The sad thing is that New Zealand’s media (with one exception; the state owned, non-commercial, Radio NZ) is pretty much like this. Our TV news is now predominantly crime, murder, sex scandals (if I hear one more item about f**king Tiger Woods!!!!!) and fluffy animal stories. God spare me.

Charlie Brooker’s Newswipe and ScreenWipe are the only shows I’ve watched on the BBC in the last few years.
